Some of your best nights out

riggghhhtt.... the best night out in london is one that usually last 72 hours or so. there is so much to do in London and when you're on that zephyr of having fun, london has many places to keep it consitantly flowing, and when its a long weekend....the best night out is definately a 72 hour thing. for example; Starting off in shoreditch house by the pool, been waited on, with the view of shoreditch - okay, not the most amazing view, but how often do you get to be outdoors and see the horizion in this concrete jungle? Shoreditch house leads me to hang out out at Zigfrids in Hoxton square, listening to this brilliant Female DJ playing old school 70's tunes - then slowly progressed the music into more contemporary funky beats. All while I drank bloody marys the whole night becasue I had a big one the night before. I suddenly (and not surprsingly because london is such a big-small city) bump into my brothers friend, who, one tequila shot later, convinces my friend and I (without much effort) to come to Cargo with him to see this band called Arun Gosh www.myspace.com/arungosh. So, we head over, and there are more of my brothers friends and we just have a blast!! The music is so good - arun is playing the clarinette and his band mates are mixing the music in with other instruments all fery funky/electro dub - and the lead singer of Asian Dub foundation turns out to be the guest MC/voacalist for that night. I am so petite, I find myself being picked up physically and passed around like a joint. I land up crowd surfing, on various peoples' shoulders and laughing so hard my sides hurt. I get home, it must be about 3 am and as it had been generously good weather the day before, I had been wearing flip flops. I take my flops off to jump into bed - and I hesitate - my one foot is totally covered in blood... I realise I danced so much, with flip flops on, I must have cut myself. grim, but i didn't feel a thign. i must have been preoccupied. Only a few hours shut eye, and Im out, up and at it again, this time south, I land up going to Horse Meat Disco in Vauxhual with a bunch of girls and we are dressed to the nines - glitter moustaches, and our gender bending take on 70's attire - we look like glamour boi's. Love Girls in drag. We wait in the queue for an hour and we get in at about 10pm - its worth it. Horse meat disco is 2008's studio 54-kinda thing. We don't stop dancing till 3am and make our way to one of the girls' houses to our own after party which ends at 6pm. I, of course need another bloody mary to straighten me up as its work tomorrow, so i head to BKB in Soho and meet some other friends, get aquainted with Mary and a plate of bangers and mash, and put myself to bed by 11pm. Today, I feel great!!

My best night out in London is always a Thursday, the city belongs to Londoners that ngiht, without the 9-5 pressure of hen partys and stag nights that come with the weekend. I started off meeting my friends for dinner at Mildreds, the best vegetarian restaurant in town, before heading to the French House, one of Sohos most historic pubs for a glass of red wine. Then poppoing to Gazs Rocking Blues on Wardour St to dance the ngiht away amongst the beautiful people of London.

2007 a summers Sunday evening, Camden locks. A labyrinth of eclectic beats, sounds, colors and good vibes. The guy powering the banjos almost set the place on fire, though that was left for another time. A cool beer in hand, sunset on the water and a near feel of someplace else. Only this was London

My first ever night out in London back in 1997 is still the best one... Food in some italian on Old Compton Street I've never been able to find again, drinks in as many Soho bars as possible, Popstarz at the Leisure Lounge and a hangover burger at the Oxford in Camden the next day

Tuesday night was fabulous...The ICA launch of their new bar, fantastic berry mojitos, a beautiful view over the Mall with glamorous people and plenty of titillating conversation! Long live summer!

the masque of the red death at battersea town hall. my friend bought tickets, i had no idea what to expect. entered the old renovated building through a back stairway, given hideous masks on our way up, and then bundled into a dark hall where we were told to wander alone through prince prospero's palace of hedonism and decadence, never taking the mask off or speaking a word. what i saw from that moment on was a blur...masked revellers, a secret murder and burial in the basement caverns, an old burlesque tavern with transvestite strippers and bawdy hosts - it was a night of utter madness and endless scenes of wild terrifying drama - that ended in a masked ball in an enormous hall with dancing, a full old fashioned band, tents of mystics, and even a massive game of limbo with festive human-chickens (it was easter night). i don't remember what time i left, but the world outside seemed completely alien and i was in a daze for days.

It has to be the spontaneous night ... sitting at home nothing planned.... phone vibrates and best mate says ... hey just heard that there is a weird show at the roundhouse ... fancy it ? Ponder ponder arrrr why not ... Little did i know the night was yet young.... The blurr involved acrobats dancing over a suspended water canopy..... a cool skippy burger ... a crepe and wander in camden and down the canal home ... The wallet may have been thinner, tinitis assisted hearing and a poor recollection of the finer details ... but the atmosphere was electric and the evening price less. Poor grandchildren ... yes grandpa we heard the story about the night you experienced the round house !!!!

My best night out in London was FRIDAY night!! My girlfriends and I went down to the O2 arena to watch our favourties girl band play then jumped on the tube over to Islington where we danced to live music in the Kings Head Theatre Bar, Upper Street and later drank cocktails and boogied down in the Embassy Bar, Islington with their top in house DJs!! Yey! Friday nights can't get better than this!!.... :-)
